What is the no sanding process?

Erie Hardwood Floor Refinishing's no sanding process eliminates the high cost and time-consuming hassles of sanding and refinishing your hardwood floors. This advanced floor finishing technology works in just one day with no sanding.

How does it work?

At the requested appointment date the Erie Hardwood team will arrive on-time to begin the restoration process. After the floors are cleaned a low odor etching formula is applied with a rotary buffer safely abrading the surface. Just like sanding, this unique formula creates a "tooth" with the old finish so it can bond with a new high quality polyurethane topcoat. It saves the hours, expense and mess of conventional sanding.

Next, Erie Hardwood will make the necessary repairs to the surface of the floor in preparation for the application of final finish.

Lastly, a high quality catalyzed wood finish (in gloss, semi-gloss, or satin) is applied and permanently locks with the original finish for an attractive protection that lasts.

How long until I can walk on my floor?

Need to walk on your floors sooner rather than later? No worries. Most floors are lightly walkable within a few hours after the final coat is applied.

The next day, you'll be fully enjoying your newly restored floors and the satisfaction of having saved lots of money with your hardwoods protected by a finish that's as tough and durable as it is beautiful.

Are my floors a good candidate?

A free in-home consultation and estimate is often the next step. Erie Hardwood will check for contaminants that might prevent new finish from adhering to your floor and discuss the floors condition. For example, if it is determined that there is wax on your wood floor, it would need to be removed.
